Adding News

What's new... I'm not perfect.  I'm going to San Francisco, Monterey and to Napa Valley and then to Nashville for the NBN... I made a new stop animation video.  I was in the audience on the morning show - they love me and I love them.  Were working on having "Wilder Monday's" because Monday's suck so if they are "Wilder Monday's" they might not suck so much.  After that I saw a line outside of TRL (MTV), so I stood in it and met a kid from Ohio who watched my guitar case when I went to get a drink.  I didn't get in to TRL.  I'm too old to be in their audience but someday I'll actually be on as a musical guest and tell them my story of standing in their line.

Performance on The Morning Show

So on Monday June 16th, I got to play out The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. I played the chorus to In My Rear-View:. It was awesome...Mike and Juliet were awesome and the audience was WILD.
You can check out a Vlog they did with me performing A Song For You:
I can't lie, I was a little bit nervous but it went well.  I got to the chorus and heard the lady sitting behind me begin to get sad and then I was thinking to myself...well if she's sad then other people in the audience might be sad too. Then I got thinking about how the show can be seen all across the nation and I wondered if I was making the nation sad and then I remembered they were Vlogging and Vlogs can be seen across the world and I wondered if the world was gonna be sad. So I smiled.

It was a really nice experience and I'm glad that I was able to be apart of peoples morning across the country.

College Shows - Fall 2008

School is soon to be back in session, party stores are stocked up on kegs, the dance floors are bumpin', the coffee house on campus needs music and Jason Wilder Evans is ready to GET WILDER at (Insert Your College/University Name Here)!

If you are a talent buyer or work with the student activities group on campus you didn't just happen upon this page by chance.  You're here because you wanna GET WILDER!  So feel free to view my rider, and then contact me about performing at (Your College/University Name Here)!  At this point, I'm not dealing with an agent so lets be honest, my performance fees a very doable for your schools budget.  So book me now before "The Man" picks me up and fees go up because I'll have to pay his utility bills.  Then you can say "Yeah, we had Wilder here back when...".

And hey remember, if you don't wanna rock, well then I can swoon, and if you don't want to be swooned then perhaps I could sing a song that would make you cry or laugh...because that's what I do.  I sing songs.  I'm not a fighter...I'm a singer.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Jason Wilder Evans

Nashville Star

I'm making the trek down to the Nations Capitol this evening to stand in line with other Nashville Star hopefulls.  One time, I send in an audition tape as well as auditioned.  This year, I tried to send in a tape but I dropped and broke my camera.  Something similar happened to me the other day too.

I went to Blockbuster to rent a video and I couldn't find the card that attached to my key chain.  The clerk didn't believe me.  She thought I was being funny.   What I told he was the truth and the truth was  I didn't have a card.  I dropped my keys and then a car came and ran over my key chain and that bent the ring and then the card that attached to the ring fell off.  How ironic is that, your key chain getting ran over by a car?

Anywho...Like the Highlander used to say "There can only be one"!

The can only be one ...Wilder

Wilder is Animated

From the Creator of Ambassador Day by Dave Kellum comes a new animated series titled: Minutes From The Buffer Zone.

MFTBZ is a Sci-Fi series that has to do with living during the end of times....or the beginning?  Inspired by Eastern European animation, Soviet propiganda and American animation in general: Bill Plimpton, Spike Jones, The Brothers Quay - MFTBZ is sure to entertain all fans of die-hard Sci-Fi, people who like animation and fans of Jason Wilder Evans.

Unable to give much information at this time, all that can be said is that Jason Wilder Evans has lent his voice to bring life to one of the animated characters.  The animated series is set for a spring release date.

Thanks Tainted Blue

Andrew Koss and Patrick Shaw are two talented folks and owners  from the Tainted Blue Studios in Times Square.  I had a great time last nite playing the Artist Loft Show that featured Caroline Gulde along with Jon Portera and a few other folks who rocked the studio.  I performed 3 songs and at some point I should get a copy.  The event was also video taped in HD so maybe if I'm lucky their will be a video posted somewhere for your viewing pleasure.  Thanks for having me, I enjoyed everything and feel fortunate to have made friends with these kind folks who are giving back, creating a scene and nurturing the music community.

Blessings,
Jason

Tired of Reality?

Tired of Reality? New Website Lets Viewers Write and Direct the Show

Mod My Life is a new approach to reality entertainment. Users don’t just watch the video, they get to control the participants in the video in real-time while they watch what happens.

“Modmylife is so amazingly uncomfortable it’s wonderful”
- Webware

Reality entertainment is interesting, but thus far little has been done to combine it with the great potential for interactivity offered by the web. Mod My Life has taken something people love to watch and raised it to a new level in an attempt to produce a continuous stream of great live entertainment. And most importantly, Mod My Life gives the user the experience of being able to affect the very show that they are watching.

“for sheer madness and originality and pure interactivity, ModMyLife scores high on all accounts. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the future of TV”
- WebTVwire, Top 10 IPTV Awards for 2007

Viewers participate by submitting and voting on actions for the performer to do. The actions are called “mods” and the performer is called a “modstar.” Users are also able to flag mods that they feel are inappropriate. The most popular mods are sent via phone or hidden earpiece to the modstar who then performs them in real-time for people to watch on the site. All of the action is broadcast live via first- and third-person cameras using advanced mobile technology. This means that during the live broadcast the modstar is able to wander freely to virtually any location without wires or other constraints. A new mod is selected and sent each time the previous mod has been completed. In this way, the modstar performs a live and continuous stream of ideas that have been created and chosen by the users.

“There should be an Oscar or something for this kind of thing. On the one hand, it’s an obvious evolution of reality TV. On the other hand, there is something deeply subversive
about how it operates. The actor ends up playing editor/director to an open ended community of democratic script writers.”
- The Last and The Next

Jason Wilder Evans is one of the site’s most popular performers. The Michigan native songwriter/actor has shared stages with Steve Azar, The Nashville Star, and Jason Levsseur. Jason is a member of APCA and has been an extra on Showtime’s Brotherhood, the film 27 Dresses, and The Game Plan. As a songwriter and actor, the connection with the crowd is passive; as a performer on modmylife.com, however, Jason is able to engage the audience on a much deeper level. Viewers become an integral part of the Mod My Life experience by writing and deciding on each new scene of the show.

Jason has been able to enhance his broadcasts with a variety of creative ideas that further inspire the viewers. Shortly before Christmas, Jason dressed up in a full Santa costume for Mod My Life, so that users were able to control Santa himself as he walked around New York City at night. The following are just some of the skits that users came up with for Jason to perform as Santa Claus:

· Act depressed and complain to people that you are not even real.
· Get in a cab and demand to go to the North Pole.
· Brag to people that you are way better than the Easter Bunny.
· Tell a woman that you recognize her as the one who peed on your leg back when she was a 7-year-old.

As the above examples demonstrate, users come up with a great variety of interesting and funny ideas for the modstars. Meanwhile, the modstars are given free reign to decide how to perform each idea. In this way, the audience and performers play off each other to produce entertainment that inspires amazing creativity from everyone involved.

If you would like to learn more about the concept or schedule an interview, please contact Andrew Keidel by email at: andy [at] modmylife.com.

Keep a look out for Jason Wilder Evans in the film 27 Dresses!!

About the film:
After serving as a bridesmaid 27 times, a young woman (Heigl) wrestles with the idea of standing by her sister's side as her sibling marries the man she's secretly in love with.

New Year News 2008

Greetings and welcome to Wilder's World.  A place somewhere between sight and sound. ( "Oh baby, baby it's a wilder world".)

I'm in the process of updating the website and looking forward to a wilder 2008.  I am especially looking forward to performing at your university this spring.  I am doing solo acoustic shows as well as modmylife. Contact me for availability.

Speaking of music...this year I will be putting out a new album.  It is written, so it will be done.

Best to you and your wazzle too,
Jason Wilder Evans
